Brainstorm _ get your ideas formulated and organized on paper. Consider things like small wedding ideas, unusual wedding venues, outdoor wedding ideas. Budget _ establish your financial limits and guidelines. Consider a cheap wedding reception as a means to save money. Guest List _ Who do you want to participate in this special event. Reservations _ Book the Venues. Vendors _ Interview and get contracts on flowers, food, photographer, musicians, baker, etc. Wedding Dress _ Provide time for up to four fittings for your bridal gown, just in case. Bridesmaids _ Sizes, colors, styles, fabrics and multiple fittings will all take time. Invitations _ Lots of choices. Consider the wedding reception invitation wording if you\'re making your own. Or, customized wedding invitation text if you\'re going to buy them.
Next, we transferred the information over to an Excel spreadsheet. It\'s not imperative that you use Excel, or even a computer for that matter, but I always have my computer with me. You can write it down on a piece of copy paper if you have to. I just wouldn\'t recommend Jill\'s Post_It method. That can be okay if you think of something while you\'re out, but don\'t have your checklist with you at the time. Just be sure to transfer it to your checklist as soon as you can. Once everything was transferred to the Excel checklist I had created for her, she told me which items on the list she had finished, and we checked those off. She even remembered a few more ideas she had about the menu, so we entered those in the appropriate section.
